Senior Manager of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability, PPL Corporation

Lissette Santana has been with PPL Corporation since 2005.  She is currently Senior Manager of Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability, responsible for managing the company’s philanthropy efforts, community partnerships and sustainability strategy.

A lover of words, she graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor’s degree in communications. In 2011, she received a master’s degree in Strategic Public Relations from George Washington University in 2011.

Lissette began her career as a reporter for The Express-Times, a local newspaper in southeastern Pennsylvania. There she honed her craft and enjoyed helping small business owners share the stories of their successes and challenges.

Her next stop on the career path was the most colorful place on earth – Crayola. She worked in the public relations department doing everything from pitching products at the International Toy Fair, coordinating news conferences in New York City’s Times Square and helping with the iconic brand’s 100th anniversary celebration.

At PPL, she is part of a team that works to highlight the company’s strategy and ongoing commitment to environmental and social responsibility. As chief operating officer of the PPL Foundation, she is proud to be able to support the community through the Foundation’s various grants programs such as Empowering Educators and Cover to Cover.

She firmly believes that together, we can make a difference. To that end, she volunteers her time with several organizations to help further education improvement in the Lehigh Valley including serving on the Bethlehem Area School District Superintendent’s Task Force on Equity in Education and Building 21 Advisory Board. She has also served as a board member for the Civic Theatre, Leader in Me and the Pennsylvania Partnership for Children.

As a lifelong resident of the Lehigh Valley, she is also passionate about ensuring the area remains a vibrant and affordable place to live.
