Veronica H. Moore

Veronica H. Moore is a multifaceted and multi-industry entrepreneur who is passionate about serving her community, being a good troublemaker, and empowering others to operate in their gifts.  She has been in the Lehigh Valley since summer 2006, first as a graduate intern and later in 2007 joining the professional staff at a local Lehigh Valley university.  She has close to 20 years of experience as a higher education professional and has served as an outside facilitator and researcher for several colleges, universities, and professional organizations.  Veronica is an award-winning children’s book author and publishing coach who is adamant about bringing diverse voices and representation in literature (especially children’s books) to the forefront.  A Chicago native, Veronica and her husband, Quartez, opened the Taste Smokers in 2018 to give the Lehigh Valley a taste of their hometown approach to BBQ. What started off as a mobile food establishment is now a brick-and-mortar location nestled on the Southside of Bethlehem, serving as not only a restaurant, but a community meeting and event space that supports advocacy and creativity. Not only is she an author, educator, and restauranteur, she is also an advocate of nature and growing food. In 2020, Veronica started the community Brown Skin Plant Mama and the program Plant Therapy for Kids as a way to teach SEL skill development in school-age children.  Veronica currently lives in South Bethlehem with her spouse, Quartez, and their two children. Fun fact – She’s been inside King Tut’s tomb.
